The ME Chest is the simplest way to use an ME Storage cell. It will give you direct access to the contents of the cell placed in the very top, right slot. The ME Chest requires a small amount of power to run on its own, or you can plug it into a network via ME Cable so it can get power directly from an ME Controller. When you insert a storage cell into the ME Chest, it will change the small light on top from red to green to let you know you have a cell stored inside.

If Advanced Drive Rendering is enabled in the config file, the top light means:

• Red = no room for anything
• Orange = no room for types, but room for items
• Green = room for items or types
• If no power lights are off.
• If no cell, empty slot is shown.
