Fully grown Aurelia (with gold ore underneath it)

Aurelia is a Tier 8 Crop from Industrial Craft 2 (Tiers range from 1 to 8). It can only be obtained by Cross Breeding. It is a white and green plant in its initial stages, and its flowers are gold in color when it matures. In its initial stages of growth it is identical to Coffee and Ferru.

To harvest the plant you can right-click it. Left-clicking will harvest the plant as well as destroy it, leaving the crop sticks. Harvesting Aurelia may yield a Gold Nugget. Left-click harvesting can also produce Aurelia Seed Bags. Gold Nuggets can be crafted into Gold Ingots or used in other crafting recipes.

Recommended cross-breed combos: Ferru + Ferru, Coffee + Coffee

Note: Aurelia will not grow to its final, harvestable stage without having a block of Gold Ore beneath it, only to stage 3 of its growth cycle. If this plant refuses to mature, it may not be Aurelia, but Ferru. When cross-breeding it is recommended to also have an Iron Ore under the farmland to ensure that the plant matures regardless of which plant it is (see photo below).

It is beneficial to treat your plants with Hydration Cells, Weed-Ex and Fertilizer to speed up growth and prevent weeds from spawning. This process can be automated with a Crop-Matron. It is important to note that excessive use of Weed-Ex will lower the crop's Statistics.

This is an easy way to ensure your crop matures, even if you don't know which is growing.

Trivia

  • The name Aurelia comes from the Latin word for gold, aurum. It may also hold roots in the Latin given name Aurelia, the feminine form of Aurelius, meaning golden. On the periodic table, gold is shown as Au.
  • The name Ferru also comes for the latin word for iron, which is shown on the periodic table as Fe.
