Silicon is obtained by smelting Quartz Dust. It is used to create both the Basic Processor Assembly and the Advanced Processor Assembly.
Note: Currently the ME Basic Processor and the ME Advanced Processor serve no purpose in Tekkit Lite, despite being able to craft them. Their use has been replaced by BuildCraft's Redstone Golden Chipset and Redstone Diamond Chipset.
Tekkit Lite version 0.6.5 re-enabled the recipes for Basic Processor Assembly, Advanced Processor Assembly, ME Basic Processor, and ME Advanced Processor as replacements for the Redstone Golden Chipset and Redstone Diamond Chipset. While the Buildcraft chipsets can be used in the creation of ME Basic and Advanced Processors, they are now no longer the primary path and are essentially provided for backwards compatibility.
