Reinforced Stone is explosion resistant, and is a good choice for building a Creeper/TNT safe bunker, or for housing a nuclear reactor. It can be mined with a Diamond Pickaxe or a Diamond Drill.
Reinforced Stone can withstand a nuclear explosion, if you build a wall at least 3 blocks thick. It can also be used to craft the Reinforced Door.
It is the third most resistant material after bedrock and the End Portal Frame with a blast resistance of 150. (In Vanilla Minecraft Obsidian has a blast resistance of 6,000; however, obsidian was nerfed by Industrial Craft, lowering its blast resistance to 40). It also is entirely impervious to equivalent exchange's Catalytic Lens , Hyperkinetic Lens , and Destruction Catalyst but does not block it from destroying blocks behind or within it. It can also be mined by a Red Matter Pickaxe.
A crater caused by a nuclear explosion. The left half was protected with a 3x3 wall of Reinforced Stone.
Reinforced Stone and Reinforced Glass being used in a Reactor Chamber.
3 walls (8 x 4) out of reinforced stone. A 6 core reactor was put in the middle and set off with the results being...
...this. The thicker the wall had less damage behind it, with 3 being completely resistant.
