These machines will dig holes in the ground or move liquid automatically, so you can do other things while they work.
Used to define areas for machines to operate in when the default area just isn't right.
The Quarry will excavate a nine by nine block area by default. You can change the size of this area using landmarks. The Quarry will continue to mine until it reaches bedrock or lava. The Quarry can be powered by up to four engines of any type, with varying speeds. Pipes must be used to receive the material the Quarry excavates or it will accumulate in a pile on the ground nearby. A Quarry must first build its own frame using the power provided by its engines, then it will commence drilling. You can also allow the Quarry to transport items that you mine into chests by using Pipes.
Unlike the Quarry or the Mining Well, Miners use electricity from Industrial Craft 2 (IC²). Miners have the same ability as a Mining Well, but it needs a mining pipe that you crafted (preference of 64 pipes) in order to dig down. A Miner also needs a Drill or Diamond Drill. Miners also have the ability to be upgraded with a OD-Scanner or an OV-Scanner to mine sideways to reach out for ores.
A Pump will move liquid - including oil - from where it started to tanks or engines.
Although not meant for mining, builders can be effective tools to assist with mining. Unlike other methods, these do not automatically pick up items. However, they're faster at removing blocks than a quarry at up 350 blocks a minute - easily achievable with an energy link. Templates can be configured to mine like a quarry, or to create a strip mine.
