Netherrack is a block that fills up amost all of the Nether with a light crimson appearance. When naturally lit or lit by a Flint and Steel, Fire Charge, etc. the Netherrack will never burn up and the fire will never burn out, making Netherrack a common fireplace stone.
RedPower has been able to harness the Netherrack's unique ability to stay aflame, and has created the Igniter, which can create and maintain a flame on the spot as long as there is a redstone current supplied to the device.
