The Gold Ingot is a Vanilla metal obtained from the smelting of Gold Ore. It is primarily used to craft Clocks, Powered Rails and as a decorative block. It can also be used to craft equipment such as tools and armor. Gold Ingots can also be found inside chests in strongholds or dungeons. Naturally occurring Gold Ore is located underground, from layer 32 downward.
Just like any other ingot, its ore can be macerated and/or smelted in a furnace. In Tekkit, Gold Ingots are used to produce Gold Cable for IndustrialCraft2, Gold Pipes and Gold Gears for BuildCraft, and various RedPower2 machines.
When growing Aurelia, a Crop from Industrial Craft 2, a block of Gold Ore must be placed under the tilled soil in order for it to reach full maturity.
You can find this ore at the levels 2-29
