Redstone Dust is a vanilla crafting and brewing ingredient. Redstone Dust is created when Redstone Ore is mined using an Iron Pickaxe or better. Redstone Dust can be placed on the ground to create a Redstone Wire. Redstone can also be crafted into a Redstone Torch or a Redstone Repeater. These items can be used in more complex Traps or Redstone circuits. In Tekkit, Redstone is a very critical part of crafting; it is used to craft many BuildCraft and IndustrialCraft items.
Restone dust can also be used to generate EU by placing it in the power slot of a charging bench, at the following rates.
Charging bench Mk1-64 EU per redstone dust
Charging bench Mk2-512 EU per redstone dust
Charging bench Mk3-2048 EU per redstone dust
