Equivalent Exchange 2 is one of the many mods included in Tekkit.
[[File:Equivalent Exchange.png]]

This mod is based around the idea that all objects/items have an EMC value, and that once converted into EMC, that EMC can be used to make pretty much any of the vanilla items, or supported mods items.
The Equivalent Exchange mod is based around alchemy and the idea of everything having a set value. It adds in a number of extremely powerful end-game items that require large quantities of EMC to make, and large quantities of fuel(redstone, glowstone, coal, alchemical fuel...) to power. It also grants the ability to easily condense materials into more valuable forms, up to diamonds and diamond ore. Most of its recipes are based around the Philosopher's Stone, which you will need in order to access much of the new content.
It adds several end-game items and blocks.
The "currency" of this mod is EMC. The more valuable, rare, and useful the item is, the more EMC an item is worth. For example diamonds are worth 8,192 EMC and each dirt piece is worth 1, so you can make 8,192 pieces dirt with 1 diamond.
